Hard Placements

I had a friend give me a devotional earlier this week that made me look at things a little differently. Generally, Elijah’s Tree focuses on preventing stress and burnout so those in ministry can continue with their calling in ministry. However, this devotional, The Red Sea Rules: 10 God-Given Strategies for Difficult Times, pointed out how it was by a pillar of fire and cloud that God lead His people to a very hard place. A pursing army with the intent of capturing and/or killing behind them, and the Sea in front of them.

Think about this spot. It would seem that God lead His people in the wrong direction. It would seem that you are at the end of the road, with no escape. It would seem that this is not only the end of your hope of freedom, but also the end of family, friends, and then end of life. In this place, how many fathers looked at their wives, or mothers looked at their children knowing the difficult fate they had led their loved ones into?

This is where God has led you to. Understand that, this is the spot He has put you in. And if He has led you and He has placed you then we need to accept that this must be His will for you. We might not understand why and we might not know the how come. That lack of understanding is hard. But if we simply trust and persevere in that trust, we will get to see our Sea open so we can walk through. If this is you, be encouraged. Even though it is difficult, God has a plan. He has led you, He has placed you, and He will bring you through. Know that you are right where God wants you. Patiently expect God’s grace and resolution of the situation.
